Native New Yorker and public school teacher Harold DeLucia is an expert in providing access to farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, and fresh-cut flowers from local family farms to various markets across the city.
Over the years he has developed well-established relationships with community residents and local business owners who benefit directly from their farm to table experience. Through these relationships, DeLucia discovered an opportunity to support small family owned Christmas tree farms, by providing their city customers with homegrown Fraser Firs. After seeing the numerous tree stalls that pop up during the holidays stocked with second-grade trees usually farmed in Canada or across the country, he recognized the need for regional, quality Christmas trees at an affordable price.
Drawing from his vast experience, NYC Trees was the logical next step in providing quality product to New Yorkers while supporting the regional farming community. “The holidays are supposed to be a time of joy and celebration,” said DeLucia. “We want to give our neighbors the opportunity to not only have a great tree to display in their homes, but also share the feeling of supporting regional farmers.”
Harold is a NYC public school teacher. When he's not teaching and delivering his beautiful fir, he's running his farm market The Farmacy NYC or coaching rugby.
